What will the widely ignored melting of the Thwaites Glacier in Antarctica really cost us?

In terms of direct effects, the mass of the Thwaites Glacier is tremendous, almost beyond our ability to conceive. Basically, there is enough above-water-line volume in Thwaites to cause a rise in global sea level of almost 26 inches, over two feet.
