I saw a post in Facebook which prompted me to write about Bus schedules. The post included a picture of a Bus Stop Notice which read, “Failure to be at the bus stop at the scheduled time will miss the bus.”

Okay, right off we have to ask, who guarantees that the bus will be at the bus stop at the scheduled time? Answer: there is no guarantee of that happening. I know for a fact by experience, that the bus routes with posted times of bus arrival vary wildly every day, with every circumstance and with every driver. I have also started toward the bus stop minutes before the scheduled time, seen the bus arrive, stop, and then leave the bus stop way before the scheduled time.

This is always timely notice for newcomers to bus travel. There are always first-time users because there are always first-time human beings (the newest generations come and go).

Again by personal experience, I have found that ride services like Uber and Lyft are works in progress with improvements coming over time. But even those hired drivers who differ…
