But RE: "However, the world cannot afford to pretend that Putin’s nuclear threats aren’t serious. They’re very real, and we must acknowledge that fact as we navigate our path forward through these new and turbulent waters. While it’s difficult to negotiate with a nuclear gun to your head, it’s even more difficult to survive a nuclear apocalypse. It’s a quandary unlike anything the world has ever faced." ––– Nope

Because all of the countries now arrayed against Putin know more than we do and I know for a fact that's about ten times more than we know.

And you'll have to know that the Secretary General of the UN along with the President of the European Union along with NATO - ALL know about Putin's "nuclear threat" and have been taking steps to prevent his taking any such action. While they too advise caution, I see no real doubts in their faces, body language or statements to show they are as concerned about this as you are.

Remember too "Boris" (Putin) has no idea what "Squirrel and Moose" (The US and Allies) are up to or what they can do, are doing. Just by accident this week, I learned of how far a certain technology has advanced - something the public knows absolutely nothing about. (No I never reveal what I have learned about certain things, unlike our "news media" I'm not taking any risks.)

It's legitimate to ask this about Putin's (now time worn) strategy: What about Putin rebuilding and regrouping while he puts up protracted negotiations? – Two things, the Ukraine has already rejected negotiations, they aren't going to be taken in by Putin's clumsy rouse. And all of Putin's opponents would benefit as much if they did use the delay provided to make their final play.

Speaking of the news media, don't we already know they depend entirely upon producing sensational "reports" on every possible subject?

So again, " It’s a quandary unlike anything the world has ever faced." ?" - Nope. The world has faced "quandaries" since the beginning of Mankind. This is just one of a kind.

Russia have never been nor will it ever be "a world power. " Relax, a little. And best wishes for your continued success.
