CNN and the Liberal Media’s Falling Star
Headline 2/20/2022: “CNN sees eye-popping ratings drop, sheds nearly 80% of its 2021 audience.”
A lot of so-called “liberal” (aka Democrat) bastions are being hit hard by the REAL majority of people in the United States. New York Times: circulation down from 2.2 million to just 374K at latest report. They’re down to just 17% of their former audience.
And if you look at the states controlled by Republicans, you’ll see the number is larger than the states controlled by Democrats and the total population of Republican states is larger than the total population of Democrat states. Put all this together then realize this is an election year.
The Democrats are losing some of their captive news networks and newspapers to plain old lack of credibility. (Might we see good old PBS go into the tank?) — People are going to be alerted to the ways used to get all those “Democrat votes” through which gives Democrats an impossible to achieve number of votes. — This isn’t new: the country grew tired of Democrats soon after WWII and Eisenhower won the 1952 election with all but six of the 48 states. Today, despite claimed “universality” the Democrats control only 17 states (of the 50 states).
One could build a reasonable case that the Democratic Party is still trying to live off the legacy of Franklin D. Roosevelt. But with the increase in personal income, even though that’s shrinking as I write this, offering government charity is appealing to smaller and smaller segments of voters. This explains the constant boosting of “minorities” even the ones the Democrats have created as client voters — like illegal immigrants who depend of regular shots of “open borders” which are technically illegal. For that matter, what credibility does any party have when it installs very questionable policies regarding foreigners entering our country without a whiff of investigation. Several million people now reside inside the United States under false ID and other forged documents (if they have any at all).
And what does CNN report about the influx of undocumented foreigners?
From an August 13, 2021 CNN report: “Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas acknowledged the “serious challenge” that’s posed for the administration.
“We are facing a serious challenge at our southern border, and the challenge is of course made more acute and more difficult because of the Covid-19 pandemic. It has also been made more difficult because of the fact that the prior administration dismantled our asylum system,” he told reporters Thursday, speaking from Brownsville, Texas.
In the administration’s effort to distance themselves from former President Donald Trump’s restrictive immigration agenda and strike a note of compassion, Biden officials have often sent conflicting messages about who’s allowed into the US and when. As a result, the border situation remains a political liability for the White House, which is drawing criticism from both the left and the right.
Republicans continue to claim that Biden has a border crisis on his hands that is of his own making, while Democratic progressives have complained that Biden is not moving fast enough to loosen regulations and dismantle Trump-era policies.”
But that report was before CNN experienced the current drop in ratings. Much time is (still) spent on criticizing former President Donald Trump and it’s now automatic to decry everything he’s done or is doing as “criminal.” This despite the obvious gap between what the CNN people say about him and his actual accomplishments (like vastly reducing illegal entry across our border with Mexico).
CNN has figuratively tied its wagon to the Democratic Party’s star. Which star is becoming less and less relevant with every passing month as we near Election Day 2022. CNN (and other platforms for Liberal thought and action) is no longer competitive with Fox News in the broadcasting business. More of us are feeling a growing sense of relief at this news.
