According to Healthline and the National Institute on Deafness, nearly 38 million Americans have some degree of hearing loss. It’s well known also that impaired hearing interferes with one’s relationships with others be they in the course of employment or among one’s own family and friends. Serious hearing loss results in total isolation which is like obliterating that person, sentencing them to solitary confinement.
