Our father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Notice please how elaborate the traditional version is, begging for bread, begging for forgiveness, begging for instructions, and begging for protection. I do not like and will never again use the full traditional version.

I don’t think we should be begging period. Because we have enough ability to do all these things ourselves. We get our food from grocery stores, some of us don’t do anything that requires forgiveness, some of us know how to deal directly with evil and have law enforcement and our own arms to protect us.

It’s true that some become unable to provided for themselves due to circumstance. We have dedicated social workers who, with great effort, work to restore that ability for those in genuine need. The only people who believe social workers are evil (i.e. “communists”) are those who resent it that social workers provide a necessary bridge to getting needed assistance. This is why we see ordinary people helping a blind person cross the street.

We don’t NEED God but we certainly need to accept that this Earth is made by something but it’s left for us to deal with.

God may be helping those who help themselves. I don’t know for sure but I think that’s the real plan. God doesn’t forgive sinners and we should not forgive leaders who…
