This hypothetical is what has been preventing people from defending against attackers from the beginning. Life is not hypothetical, it's real and not composed by people's imaginations or imagined wisdom.

In real situations where for example plain clothes detectives are forced to use their gun to stop an attack, there is no chance armed bystanders will shoot the detective. I am not a police officer but have had to draw my (licensed) concealed handgun couple of times. Each time, i stopped someone from attacking. All it took was for them to see I was aimng my gun at them. They froze in place. It's never been difficult to see what's going on. You are either in the fight or out of it.

You've got the statistics wrong, too. The percentage of adults with concealed handgun licenses varies by state with the highest percentage being about 10=13 percent. Many states have informal groups advocating "open carry" as a matter of constitutional right but bars are prohibited places for any kind of armed person. So the shooter in the Pu;;se bar knew that none of the patrons would be armed - that law made the occupants prime targets for any shooter no matter what the agenda.

The man you want to forgive is the one who should be forgiving you for what you don't know about mass shootings. But you are teachable. And should be taught and trained by the man "you want to forgive."

I do not own an AR-15. But there is nothing wrong about legally armed citizens carrying one. If I happened to see someone carrying an "assault rifle" illegally, I would take whatever action was possible and necessary to deal with that situation. That is the advice from a law enforcement officer when I asked what I should do.

Just to make it a little clearer, the state I live in has a law making it mandatory for concealed licensees to announce their status when addressing any police officer. NEVER had a problem with doing so, not in over 50 years.

I'm not looking for a romantic partner but if I were I would be looking for a woman who likes to shoot her guns for practice and competition. For straight guys, this is really sexy and appealing.

And yes, you are right about the need for us to know each other beyond the gun control propaganda put out by the Democratic Party. I just ignore them on that point unless they're putting up another gun ban like the one President Biden is promising right now.
