We are not going to make it because of Trump. Trump is the sideshow. The real show was handed to us by none other than Isaac Azimov in 1976 when his story, The Bicentennial Man first appeared. The novella was made into a movie by the same name in 1999 and starred the late Robin Williams. If you are unfamiliar with this story, I recommend you watch the movie which follows the subtle story line closely.

Today, we are 60 years short of the time depicted in the movie but the overlap with modern Artificial Intelligence is unmistakable.

Azimov was a true genius with an IQ estimated at 200. He created the idea of the “positronic brain” and gave us the three laws of robotics.

A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

From these three laws Azimov wove an intriguing projection into the near future though few people believed it was even possible in 1976.

I will jump to my conclusion to save my readers time. I am certain that the current development of Artificial Intelligence will lead to people buying assistant robots that resemble human beings. I…
