What If The Police Don’t Respond?

Isn’t it a major mistake for journalists to “just report the facts” of a school shooting? So far, mostly it’s just been telling about what happened once the shooter gained access to the interior of a school building. And we have already seen a few examples of potential shooters becoming actual shooters after they studied previous shootings. So why continue to report like that?
