Why Trumpism is a Lasting Movement

There are a couple of problems with this idea that Donald Trump’s supporters are all stupid and will just dry up and blow away once he is gone.

Trump’s supporters include a large number of high functional people who’re well into adulthood and who are above average by just about every metric. They have already started looking at the post-Trump era. In addition, detractors forget other possibilities: like Ivanka Trump becoming the first woman president. Hell, Trump’s family could make a pretty impressive dynasty at the head of our government. (But I do not want that or promote it.)

(2) By constantly demeaning Donald Trump’s followers, his Democrat and Republican opponents only deepen their resentment and resolve by reminding them why they originally looked to Trump to change government around to the way it should be: not a parental government providing help by stealing other people’s money and restricting lawful constitutional rights but a government of, for and by the people.
There is even a movement to isolate the smaller islands of Democrat control and then choking the supply of everything from electricity to food. City people think they’re invulnerable and in complete control of their lives. But they don’t control the people who run power stations or even make airports run smoothly. Neither party can control truck drivers, either. France has shown us how quickly farmers can bring “civilized people” to the point of panic. We’ve never had a general strike so it would be “revealing” to see how quickly urban democrats can be undone.
Trump followers are done with waiting for some respect. That’s why they know Trump is the right man to restore true equality, by bringing down the elitists in this country. There are too many elitists in both parties but the balance is far over to the Democrat side.
That’s ironic because it was the Great Depression and FDR who provided the original lesson for how to build a huge grassroots following and lasting legacy. FDR was a Democrat but today’s Democratic Party has no one like FDR, instead all they have this year is a 12-person lineup of silly-to-mediocre candidates. So Trump’s followers will not be going away — there are others who know they can fill his shoes and bring permanent restoration of government of, for and by the people.
